The amazing dunes on the Oregon coast, rolling forever onwards, only broken up by patches of forest. The local rangers had just found footprints from a mountain lion crossing the dunes and they often saw bears.
Hard to tell if the forest was taking over the dunes or the dunes the forest, until we came across sections of the road where the dunes had taken over the shoulder. There was not even enough room to pull the bikes over for a photo.
One of a pair of very cheeky steller jays who would have made off with our cameras had we put them down. The safer type of wildlife to have a close encounter with.
