Left Memphis this morning, long day on straight I55 heading North to rejoin Route 66 in St Louis. Travelled through 4 states -Tennessee, Arkanas, Missouri and now in Illinois - crossed the Mississippi twice and it seems to be getting bigger each time.
What is there to say about Memphis - green, wet, grand, Graceland - Elvis, Elvis fever; Sun Studios - Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, the Big O, Elvis again; Rock and Soul Museum - B. B. King, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnson, the birth of Rock and Roll, the end of segregation, the last speech of Martin Luther King Jr, Elvis again; and Beale St - Blues, bars and dreams. Just WOW.

That sounds awesome. I am stuck half way in between being so wrapped that you are having the best time and thinking I should stop checking your blog every 10 minutes 'cause I desperately want to be over there with you.
